Shivangi Kalra

Shivangi Kalra is a visual artist whose practice explores the layered complexities of memory, identity, and transformation through painting and mixed media. Born in Delhi, she holds a BFA in Painting from the College of Art, Delhi (2021) and an MFA from the Frank Mohr Institute, Netherlands (2022–2024), where she graduated cum laude. Her studies were supported by the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant and the Holland Scholarship (2022, 2023).
In 2024, Kalra was awarded the prestigious Dutch Royal Painting Prize, with her work exhibited at the Royal Palace of Amsterdam. This was followed by a prize at Galleria Doris Ghetta, leading to a solo exhibition in Italy. In 2025, she presented her second solo show at Method, Mumbai.
Kalra’s evolving body of work engages with materiality and gesture to reflect on inner states and shifting terrains, positioning her as an emerging voice in contemporary painting. Showed with SAC Art Amsterdam for ‘It’s Getting Out of Hand’ from 03.10.2025 – 29.11.2025.
