Tanuja Rane is a printmaker whose work pushes the boundaries of the medium, blending delicacy with strength through etching techniques refined over two decades. Her practice explores movement, spirituality, and the interconnected flow of internal and external energies. Drawing on the chakra system as a conceptual framework, her recent work examines symbolic relationshipssuch as the antelope and the heart chakraas portals to emotional and energetic states.
Rane holds a BFA and MFA in Fine Art from the Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai. She has participated in residencies at the Glasgow Print Studio and Ratamo Centre for Printmaking and Photography (Jyväskylä, Finland). Her work has been widely exhibited, including at Chemould Prescott Road (Mumbai), the Sharjah Art Museum (UAE), the Triennale Mondiale De L’Estampe (France), the Biennale Internationale de la Gravure de Sarcelles (France), Bihar Museum, Bharat Bhavan Biennial of Print Art (Bhopal), Mumbai Art Fair, and India Art Fair.

Her prints are deeply personal yet collective, reflecting on women’s experiences across different life stages, and on existential questions around purpose and belonging. Showed with SAC Art Amsterdam for Group Exhibition, ‘My Veins Don’t End in Me’ from 16.05.2025 — 20.09.2025.
