Vihaan Surya Singh
Vihaan Surya Singh (b. 2006) is a visual artist whose work explores the body as a microcosm for the world. Drawing heavily from Indian mythological, philosophical and artistic traditions, he maps the deeply personal onto forms and stories drawn from a collective visual and narrative commons.
Currently traversing between the mediums of painting, photography, text, textile and jewellery, he plots intricate records of desire, grief and longing. His practice foregrounds materiality and processes which are often time-consuming and labour-intensive; the paintings become, through the process of making, vehicles for meditation and contemplation.
He is currently pursuing his undergraduate degree at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and is based between Amsterdam and Jaipur. He has shown in group shows in Jaipur, Amsterdam and London.
Showing with SAC Art Amsterdam at NAP+ 2026, taking place from 17–20 September 2026 at De Centrale Markthal, Amsterdam.
